Frequently asked questions
Are credit cards accepted?
Yes! We accept all credit cards at both locations and online.
Are reservations accepted?
We do not accept reservations, but do occasionally book private events for larger groups. See details below.
Do you book private events?
Both the Deli and Sandwich Shop may be booked for private events. The Deli can accomodate 20 – 25 guests for a seated dinner or brunch. The Sandwich Shop can host 40 – 60 guests mingling around our communal table.
Do you have seating?
We do. The deli has 25 seats amongst a few large tables and fixed stools that line the counter. The Sandwich Shop has 25 stools scattered around it’s standing height communal table.
Do you serve alcohol?
Craft beers and natural wines are available at the Deli. You can view the rotating offerings here. Currently our soda fountain and Stumptown coffee is the extent of our beverage program at the Sandwich Shop, but we do hope to change that soon.
Are you kosher?
No, we are not kosher. We make every effort to source and utilize the best ingredients available to us, including organic produce, natural meats and locally sourced dairy.
Do you offer takeout or delivery?
Yup! Both are available at each location. The Brooklyn Deli has a convenient street-side takeout window that is operational during all opening hours. We also deliver within the neighborhood from Henry Street to Fourth Avenue between Union Street and Tillary Street. Takeout can be ordered from 10 AM to 10 PM at the Sandwich Shop‘s counter and deliveries are now being made in downtown Manhattan within the range of First Avenue to Sixth Avenue from Canal Street to Fourteenth Street.
Why is the takeout dinner menu at the deli so limited?
We strive to make every customers experience memorable, both when eating in and taking out. The majority of our menu at dinner does not pack or travel well so we’ve narrowed down the takeout offerings to items that will hold up best until you’ve reached your destination.
Do you sell bulk bagels?
We no longer carry St. Viateur bagels, but look out for our very exciting house made bagel program coming this Fall. In the meantime our hand rolled bagels are available as sandwiches at both the Deli and Sandwich Shop.
Do you sell challah?
Freshly baked braided challahs are available every Friday afternoon at the Deli for $6. You can reserve yours by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or just stop by to pick one up. Large ceremonial challahs are also available for special occassions like a wedding or bris; just be sure to give us at least 72 hours notice.
Weekly challah delivery programs are also available to schools and community groups. Contact email@example.com for rates and details.
Where can I find your cookbook?
Right here, on our site! If you purchase the book through mileenddeli.com you can request a customized message from authors Noah and Rae Bernamoff.
